Brain Injury High School Sports Injury Law

My child suffered a brain injury while playing high school sports. Who is liable?

You can sue anyone who had a part in causing your child’s injury. For example, the school may have supplied bad football helmets – you can sue the school. If the coaching staff had the kids running at each other full speed and cracking their heads together – you could sue the coaching staff. If the athletic association hired people with no experience, you may be able to sue them. If the football helmet your child was wearing was known to fly off during tackles, you may be able to sue the helmet manufacturer for a bad helmet design. If there was some problem with the field, you may even be able to sue the landowner of the playing field. An experienced personal injury attorney can help you sort through the circumstances behind the injury and the persons who may be responsible.
