Can a child suffer a traumatic brain injury?

Yes. Traumatic brain injury is not age or gender sensitive. There are some aspects of brain injury that are unique to young children. The skulls of young children are more vulnerable and injury to the frontal lobe, which develops later, may not manifest until years later. As such, the extent of brain damage or loss is more difficult to measure in children than in adults who have prior performance records (e.g., transcripts, jobs, etc.).
